re: you know Intel has had many opportunities to sponsor race car drivers in the past. The Pro side is that race car drivers have big fan bases worldwide and particular strength in Europe. The Con side is that these guys occasionally run into walls and die.

A company I used to work with, which was very involved in sponsoring race car drivers and even NASCAR races, said the demographics of the fans are the best (most wealthy) in major sports. Surprised hell out of me, I always thought of auto racing as a redneck hobby.

But I understand what you mean, folks might subliminally remember the announcer yelling "the Intel car has had a horrible CRASH!!".
