If Wall Street / hedge funds etc. are not "squeaky clean," then it is possible that someone had advance knowledge (or was just hoping) ...

that the Center for Financial Research & Analysis would (of course) at some point be "trashing" Qualcomm.

So, anyone with advance knowledge (or a "hunch") would have shorted QCOM.

Now (presumably), they all have to cover their short sales.

Who (who still remains as a long, because they actually understand Qualcomm, CDMA, etc.) is going to say :

"Oh, we've rallied from down 82% from the high ... all the way to only down 80% from the high.

Wow. What a gift ! I'll lighten up right now, and release some of my shares to the people trying to cover their massive short positions ..."
