Among people who do not approve of the job Bush is doing in office, just 27% would say that patriotism is an “extremely” or “very” important value in our society. This measure stands at 58% among women. · The importance of religion seems to transcend gender and age, but does vary based on geography and ideology. The importance of religion captures above 50% in all regions of the country except the West (25%) and the Northeast (39%). Two-thirds (67%) of self-identified conservatives say religion is either “extremely” or “very” important, while among self-identified liberals this score drops to 38%.
