Most of my posts are humor. Forgot to put the smile sign on that one. <G>

I've owned some junk bond MFs in the past. I might own some again in the future. I think MFs are the best way to play junk bonds.

CQB chapter 11 is not an ENE. CQB management did everything they could do. The political risk factor (EU) dealt them a big blow. That is part of investing and I know that.

I did buy some really cheap spec GX shares not long ago. Now they are even cheaper GBLXQ shares. LOL

I did miss all the other bankrupt companies. <G>

Yes there was a big management shift starting about ten years ago. I really noticed it. A bunch of old guys retired and the new guys coming in created a different culture. Here are some things I observed. Promote and hire friends. Party on the company money. He who sucks up the best is on the A list. Great results are accidental. We need a youthful image. Hire a new outside consultant ever year to follow the lastest management fad. Change the employee review and compensation plan often. Grant a lot of stock options to senior managers. Senior management gets huge cash bonus no matter the results. Develop a bonus system with unreachable goals for middle management. Pay 401k matching in company stock. Reduce benefits because they are getting too expensive. Talk about driving results and leveraging clients. Forget servicing present profitable clients, and focus everyone on selling to big new clients at a loss. Have managers produce business plans and then ignore them until years end.

In general many current managers have no business morals, ethics, or leadership skills. They focus on results, but don't know how to create the results.
