I guess sometimes it's just the thought that counts :)

Still, I'll bet that Dubbya knew whose corporate jet he was flying on to get to all his campaign appearances (it did have a big "E" on the tail)!

And I'll bet he knew that Halliburton (when Cheney was CEO there) was building Enron field.

And I'll bet that when Dubbya was first running for governor, and Enron (and it's execs.) were his largest single contributor... he had more than a passing familiarity with who they were. You do know that Ken Lay sent a memo round telling all his executives how much they were expected to contribute to Bush, don't you?

And I'll bet that when Lay got to pick the regulators who were supposed to regulate his industry (both in Texas, and in Washington) Georgie knew who supplied the names he was supposed to appoint.

It may not be exactly 'bought and paid for' but it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... maybe it's got a few feathers.
