AMAT (and later next month MU) figure in the scenario... and I erred in my cash position, I got just before the close in KLIC at $14.41, leaving me with close to 31% cash into the weekend.

Since semiconductor equipment stocks have a tendency to run up in advance of AMAT earnings (Tuesday after the close), that should help us get to that high 1800s area.

I hope not. I put my shorts back on this afternoon, unfortunately, a little too soon. Until the very last 15 minutes of this massive short covering rally, KLAC couldn't even break its morning HOD. I think that yesterday's massive carnage in the sector is a preview of what's to come. KLAC and AMAT finished today right at the top of their new channel, which was formed when they broke through their old channel yesterday. NVLS' chart looks bad.

I could be wrong, but I think the smart money is leaving these now.
