Clarify how emotional conviction has anything to do with making money in the stock market.

The presence of cheerleaders means that there are people who wouldn't sell. Plus some of the cheerleaders themselves and a few of the gullible ones that follow them would buy the stock. This will set the stage for a rally.

Once the price gets beyond what it was when the downleg started, it will be viewed as "proof" that everything is fine and dandy. And from then on, the next downleg to a lower low will begin, maybe after a few late stragglers have pushed it to slightly higher levels for a day or two.

Remember this is still very much a story stock. If you closely watched the cheerleaders and made independent decisions, without believing what they said, you can make pretty good trading gains here. At least that is the idea. But if you believed them, then you are doomed too, along with them.

Let me ask you a stupid question, waverider. When you go to the store to buy your favorite toilet paper, are you buying it because you hate it or because you have found it's the most comfortable out of all the other brands? That's called conviction. Emotions don't have anything to do with it.

Now when I write that "We will probably go down but from the strength and conviction of QCOM posters, it's an opportunity to average in," what I am saying is that we've all done our homework and now we're going to have to wait for the market to agree with us. I call that conviction which goes way beyond a simple adjective (emotional).

One last thing, you and 99.99% of the population who invest in the stock market probably are investing to make money. But I bet you there's a percentage that just want to see if they're right when deciding upon a particular stock.
