The only thing that has me worried is FD law. Would MSFT, CSCO lowball their forward in an ENRON type environment? Or is lowballing still considered proper? Either way Niles does seem to be taking advantage with his timing. Whatever the mood it does seem to be anti Joe sixpack.

Re analysts:
Those two are seeking attention and recognition.and therefore will say something about the big cos. at critical times which is now. (excellent timing on Dell, BTW, next week is too late, and everyone is alert today)
So they must say something- even if there has been no change in company prospects.
1. What didn't they say?.
If they are so well-informed, and know so much about Dell, why did they not tell us exactly what Dell is going to report on Thursday. Apparently they dont know that, but are able to tell us in advance
within one cent what Dell will report 3 months from now on future sales. And if they are so good at predicting, they should be rich as sin and retired now instead of still working
2. Since there is no change in this quarters earnings, what is their agenda and reason for talking?. IMO, its to drive Dells price down before earnings. Not nescesarily to tank the stock permanently, but to cause the volatlitty
upon which their broker buddies thrive. Especially in the opttions.
3. Dell meets or beats earnings estimates over 9 out of ten times. Its more likely the analysts are wrong.
4. What is one cent- considering long term ?. Berkshire Hathaway stock,BRKA, representing the solidist companies money can buy, is now at the same price as May of 1998 with earnings down 69% for the last 9 months.

Does anyone want to swap Dell for Brka?
