Technology development tends to be discontinuous-geometric, not linear. Tech companies (and stock values) tend to follow.

If he makes the assumption that no new technologies or companies can enter the NASDAQ, I'd agree that it will take a decade to crack 5K. I think such an assumption is unsupportable, so I disagree with his conclusion.
