milo - You posted We use a lot of 1 GHz AMD Athlon™ processors. We found they are incredibly reliable," he said. "In fact, we have well over 1500 AMD-based servers that have been up and running 24 hours a day for over two years with no downtime whatsoever."

That's quite a story !! Imagine - Rackspace has run 1 GHz Athlon servers for OVER two years !!

And AMD introduced the 1 GHz Athlon a little LESS than 2 years ago.

Now just how did they do that?

Milo, "We use a lot of 1 GHz AMD Athlon™ processors. We found they are incredibly reliable," he said. "In fact, we have well over 1500 AMD-based servers that have been up and running 24 hours a day for over two years with no downtime whatsoever."

At work, I have four Athlon based Servers ranging from 700 MHz to 1 GHz running 24 x 7. The 700 Mhz Athlon server has been in operation for over two years and has given perfect service. At this moment, I am working on yet another server using a 1200 Mhz Athlon Processor in an Asus A7v motherboard! Talk about Smooth! Talk about Stable!

I have experienced the same incredibly reliability that Rackspace speaks of! Much in contrast to what the Intellibees would have Us believe, AMD is NOT only a Stable platform on which to base a server or a client, AMD may even be MORE stable than using Intel!!! And certainly AMD offers more Bang for the Buck!!! Using AMD is a “win-win” solution!

In any event, I have NO reservation using AMD based Servers and I have NO reservations using AMD Clients! I have had nothing but success using AMD!

Milo, thanks for the post. The world is starting to discover the truth!!! Market share capture is inevitable...resistance is futile!

Kindest Regards
