Absolutely, such a simple and obvious fact that so few seem to grasp. The only time you are justified going long in a situation like that is to position yourself for a short. You go long for the bounce and then sell double your shares after the bounce peters out and the decline resumes. Going long first gets your psychology in gear for the short and is much easier on you than going into the short before the decline resumes.
