Eric - I haven't gone back and looked, but I could have sworn that part of the retrenchment in the Nov. - Dec. time period was to kill their big proteomics array analyzer project (I, too, liked the life sciences side of the company). Do they still have significant R&D in Life Sciences?

Eric, AFCI looks like a very solid company, probably a good long term hold as you suggest. I like the huge cash position, and will consider buying a few shares. This is a bit dated, but here is a link to an article that mentions AFCI, and a few others. The author liked AFCI at around 16/share, and said he still liked it at 21 and change, back in November when this was written (it closed this past Friday at 15.6). thestreet.com Thanks for the info on AFCI and also your comments on the GLW life sciences division.
