Have it your way, Nadine.

The Israelis were afraid of a war, by taking the Mufti, but the Zionists were not afraid of a war when they lobbied and terrorized for a "State"?

Nadine, wasn't the Mufti indicted by the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal? Or am I mis-remembering?

Not the West, len. Israel. Israel was a weak state in the 50's, badly outnumbered and outgunned. They could not have taken the Mufti without sparking a war with Syria.

So those bombing raids to Damascus in 1956 were part of this same policy of not wanting to "spark war with Syria"? Hmmm . . . Anyway, it wouldn't have taken a big military effort to nab Vorster while he was having dinner with the Prime Minister of Israel.

According to Israeli law, Vorster should have been arrested for being a former Nazi collaborator.

I guess it's different when you are a Nazi offering business opportunites.
