Saturn, <I thing Tench is being naive and silly for wasting his time to post on this thread.>

You are probably right. Too many posters were able to sail underneath the Mani radar and throw subtle but personal attacks. Now those attacks are not so subtle anymore.

The sad thing is that AMD has indeed come a long way, but among other things, that has served to fuel the anti-Intel jihad to the highest levels I've seen in years. It's truly pathetic to see Jerry Sanders cultivate such a cult mentality, because these AMDroids are the real fruits of his work.

Saturn V,

I am just sick and tired of you guys ganging up on Tench. He has been the politest poster, and one of most informative posters.

I agree with the second part, but I myself found Tenchusatsu's post a bit questionable myself. I wrote a reply to him, but I deleted it before posting.

I think TWY was right to object to it. Tench. is most of the time careful in commenting only on publicly available information, but in this case he nade a slight mistake - no big deal.

But I found the second part of TWY's post more interesting, which is the universal cheerfulness of Intel employees about everything the company does, which is hard to square with real life.

What I am curious about is, if there is a policy that bans speaking, writing or actions that could damage Intel as a company. It would not be an unprecedented policy, and I believe fully within the rights of any private employer. If there is such a policy, I think it would be appropriate for Intel employees to use a tag line (at least once in a while), similar to what Elmer suggests: #reply-17040198

"Personal views only. Not speaking for Intel Corp". I would amend it "and not directed to speak (post) by Intel Corp".

2nd part should be added (if applicable).

"I am under contractual obligation with my employer (Intel Corp.) that prevents me from posting information that could be damaging to my employer"

Doing so would clear the air, and we would not have to keep revisiting the issue, it seems like every other week.
