Steve, thanks for the link. I actually use linux at work, and although I can't compare the performance vs a Windows based machine with the applications I use, I can compare it to PA-RISC systems running HP-UX. I think they are J5000s, c1999. We now have Pentium 4 systems running Linux, and the difference is out of this world. Jobs complete 2-4x faster, and that's with roughly 1/10 the cost. I'm not sure if it's just the processor involved, or if it's a combination of processor and operating system, but we are definitely happy with the purchase. I wonder if any other businesses are discovering the benefits of x86 on Linux over RISC. wbmw
