Zeev, it takes a long time to purify a mind of hate. It is something that is taught from birth and reinforced in the streets (I know you agree with that). People who see no bright future will make unbelievable demands on society and cause considerable damage to the hearts and minds of each successive generation. Think of gangs in LA and refugees in most war torn parts of the world. Desperate people do desperate things. Religious doctrine that encourages an eye for an eye also does little to de-escalate. I guess what I'm saying is that it is very hard for some people to move on with their lives when they have no life right now. Give them hope and a future with economic prosperity, and they will move on. Barring that, the alternative is continued unrest.
