"it is so in our brains" Personal thinking is a contraction in Mind, occuring as a result of the self-contraction. The brain is the receptor-vehicle in the process. The entire process is as a result of the interplay between the personal PERCEPTUAL mind (proceeds of the human nervous system) + the personal CONCEPTUAL mind (concepts, notions, beliefs) + MIND itself (racial, species, living being memory etc) all arising in Consciousness itself. "so if you thought, with your energetic brain, that you were a pickle you would for all purposes, to yourself, be a pickle" Absolutely.
