Dan, re: "Power for the northbridge is 3 to 3.75 watts at 100mhz and 4 to 5 watts at 133mhz."

It seems like there would be a better tradeoff between performance and watts by using DDR instead of SDRAM (and then you could have PC2100 w/133FSB for the watt "cost" of PC100 w/100FSB). BWDIK - I just contemplate building a luggable/desknote system so am curious about SFF.

I also liked the following from the presentation (thanks for the link):

Slide 9: It was quite optimistic on total Japan desktop units but the massive shift to SFF (20% in '98 to 50% in '00, data from May '01) was interesting.

Slide 13: Chassis thermal limitations of 75W for 2001 (but >75W for 2002 - new fans? <g>). The 1.4G T-Bird reached 64/72W (typ/max) and the XP 2000+ has reached 62/70.

Slide 20: Interesting term "thermal inertia management" under the heading "Performance on Demand"

Dan,

How did you find the link to the presentations? I was looking around, but couldn't find them.
