SaturnV:

"Dont the AMDroids presently believe that Hammer series will wipe out Intel ?"

Not wipe out, but significantly ouperform...and for good reason...trends, trends, trends...AMD's Athy has exceeded any and all expectations set out for Athy by even the most enthusiastic of AMD supporters...Owing to its compelling architectural design, the Athy not only outperformed the p3, which pre-Athy was standalone in the top end of the performance range, but has neutralized/surpassed INTC's much hyped but uncompelling in architecture, p4...No reason to believe that Hammer's architecture, the next generation, won't significantly outperform the p4, when AMD's XP, the current generation already performs at least as well as p4...

"Historically if you follow the message boards each generation of design was going to be the ultimate weapon."

That's true, and AMD's Athy did, but p4 has yet to...

"Prepare to be surprised is an old hackneyed phrase."

Yep, but recently, AMD's technological surprises (supported by no. of yearly patents) have been positive surprises...Can't say the same about INTC's!!!
