I think you may be confusing some of us looking at charts going in a clearly downward direction with being overall pessimist's that think the economy/country is headed to hell in a hand basket.

The market is a bear market that is now correcting down from a very good bear market rally. Some of us find it easier to trade the general direction of the market which in this case is clearly down therefore at this point we are shorting more then going long. I tend to think we are realists that are just dealing with what is rather then what we would like for the market to be doing.

I personally look very forward to the bottom being put in and for the fluff to be gone so I can again go crazy long. Until then I will just go with a Tom Dorsey quote, "What is, is."

Actually, I'm more in line with Jorj.

well most companies are honest and are run by honest people.
Yeah. Soon after Enronitis was discovered, I had that thought and said to myself: "Self, when WSJ and CNBC start saying that, the next upleg starts." And it started late last week, I believe.

But if I remember Jorj correctly, he then expects a significant dip. And so do I.

Gold at 5000? DOW 3000? In an alternate universe maybe. Not here. Not unless I and Jorj and a lot of other people are really, really wrong and things go really, really wrong.

JYD, I agree with Jeffro...I follow my charts..they tell me we're going down..I hope for a bull to stand and hold , but with the eco as it is and companies struggling to show yr over yr/qtr over qtr improvements I seriously doubt we're anywhere close yet

I would prefer it if sentiments were more bullish since I short-ish...<g>
