Windows Update has detected that you have the following hardware devices installed on or attached to your computer. Windows Update has an updated version of the device driver software that enables you to use this hardware with Microsoft Windows.

Intel Corporation - Storage
56 KB/ Download Time: < 1 min
Intel Hdc Driver Version 2.0.0.2093

Has anyone updated this Device Driver using Update?

Device Driver Updates
How to Download and Install Device Driver Updates

Use Update Wizard Uninstall to remove driver updates from your computer:
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.

In System Information, click the Tools menu, and then click Update Wizard Uninstall.
Important If your computer did not have a driver for your hardware device before you installed the new driver from Windows Update, Update Wizard Uninstall will not uninstall the Windows Update driver (uninstalling a driver or driver update without replacing it will cause your hardware device to stop working).

H Peterson, I saw the same driver upgrade and did not download it since I don't know what device this refers to. Besides, my pc works fine. Windows Update also wants me to replace my modem driver with an older version than the one I have [I got it directly from the modem manufacturer's site].

I tried searching the Intel site for a clue, but found nothing.

H.P., I took the plunge and downloaded the Intel HdC driver after the download site reassured me it was reversible...

It has had no apparent ill effect. I think it may be hard disk related. When I follow the click stream indicated above, I see that Intel storage drivers have been installed.

From my message... #25521...PS....thecow, I did go through and eliminate a lot of the programs in the start-up file I referred to the other day. One of the big ones was Norton Disk Doctor. I will see if the computer hangs up tomorrow during market hours.

I was doing great today until about a half hour before market closed and then got hung up. I think if I order the extra memory I will be ok. I did download that DocMemory Test from simmtester.com and the tests ran ok.
