Lars, Couldn't agree more. A few days ago I had 3 gentlemen from India in for business. They are currently based in Singapore. I love much about Singapore so was kidding them about their "great assignment" as opposed to their homeland. These guys are mid level managers that travel the world with their jobs (and live on the cell phone by the way) and each of them can't wait to go back to India and live. They are not aristocrats nor do they deny or accept the abject poverty in their country but they obviously feel good about their country and its future.
