Russet, you probably dont get it.

I personally am not on a mission against the plant Cannabis. It just another God given plant minding its own business on planet earth with its unique properties. THC being one of the active ingredients.

I have an ISSUE with the way HC approach THC.

1. British at the research stage.

British research into the clinical use of cannabis

HC got the British beat here.
HC has bypassed this entire stage!

Where's the animal research studies,
where's the preclinical work,
where's the Phase I (toxic study),
Phase II( safety and effaciacy)and
Phase III??

I guess HC assume Canadian researchers are doing it for free (teenagers, hippy friends, street users) or implicitely implied its complete, the already defacto research.

2. HC is above the law.

HC got the British beat here too.
I know Citizen Smuck cannot possess, grow or sell POT legally in Canada. (US even tougher.) HC can.

Remember Allen Rock was Justice Minister prior to his parachute into HC.

Note also Anne McClelland was Justice Minister prior to her appointment into HC.

A Pattern. Who does the appointments anyways?? See where I am leading.

3. A third party is doing the British research, assume arms length but I has me doubts.

company behind the study, Salisbury-based GW Pharmaceuticals

HC got the British beat here too.

Why isn't research open to private Canadian firms? (This is not the same as the private firm handling HC's grow operation under contract.)

Your article doesn't say who is sponsoring and financing the British research.

HC is sponsorer and using tax payer money for the financing! As a tax payer, I have no say. I don't even know if the revenues from the POT sales comes back to Canadians or where is eventually disappears to??

HC is competitor to all research, biotech, and pharma companies when it comes to POT. In fact they got the strangle hold. Unfair competitive advantage, abuse of powers, abuse of the public purse,.... IMHO it doesn't fit into their MANDATE.

4. I have not heard of any relaxation of related Canadian Laws?

HC got the British beat again. HC is above the Law.

The attitude of British officials towards medical cannabis use has softened in recent months

Legalization? Tax POT like Tobacco?

I can go on and on!! Makes me want to

a)puke
b)spit <g>
c)become a hippy

This is my position and I'll sit on it.

Peace, Man.
