It pleases me so to find that my hard headedness is not unique! Bad trades are my best teachers, too. Usually I get a new rule or variant from each one of them. That's very clever of you: first the test and then the lessons! I am confused, however, by your saying that you do not trade mechanically, yet you have very confining rules. The system I continue to evolve started out as a set of fuzzy logic rules (originally the logic was fuzzy, then it became fuzzy logic), and gradually solidified into a fairly rigorous flow chart which I now consider to be a mechanical system. I have to have one, because if I use any discretion at all, I run into the grand overarching rule that "I am always wrong." Any of that make sense from your experience?

Trading gross profit $97. commissions $64
net day profit $33

My 1st goal is to put together
4 out of 5 positive days per week
It is not how much i make that
is important, but how consistent i am
At the point,i feel that i am
making a profit the majority of the time,.
i can start trading at much higher levels

So in that regard today was a success
But, in the end, i gave up much
of the profits, by foolishly
shorting a rather strong market
and letting my stop slip some
This is wrong and is bad trading
