My calling Banias "Bananas" is technically a violation of the rules. The purpose of a moderator is not to blindly enforce rules, but to use a bit of discretion and enforce them only when the thread benefits from this enforcement. Personally, I would rather have Tench here than TWY. But, this choice is not by any means by a wide margin. If Tench chooses not to visit this thread because of personal attacks, that is his choice. And, the type of nondiscretionary banning that would justify banning TWY would also justify banning Yousef, Elmer, etc., and I would rather have this group of people here without Tench than just Tench without this group of people.
