I heard a brief mention on NPR coming in about a study done in opposition to capital punishment for the mentally retarded. Apparently the author is a known opponent of all capital punishment, and some people were dismissing the study on that basis. His answer was "statistics are statistics." I almost lost my breakfast. That anybody considering themselves competent to author a study they think should be taken seriously would say something that asinine.
