The Japan malaise must now have exceeded a decade. Over that period the world has learned to live with less of a market there and less financing from there. So IMO the danger of further demise is lessened. I don't mean to minimize the danger but Japan is not what it once was and I doubt that anyone would be betting the farm that it will become the same anytime soon. Also, I believe that a lot of what was considered the Japanese market was actually purchases for incorporation into products resold outside the country. Those markets still exist but are being increasingly serviced from elsewhere.
