I believe a good start for the Palestinians would be to get Arafat out of power and put a moderate in his place.

How is that for a start?

Sharon's predecessor gave Arafat everything he asked for at Camp David. He turned it down. Why, because Arafat does not want peace with Israel he wants no Israel.

Cnyndwllr,
You have to understand that no matter what is given to the Palestinians they will want more, and more, and more. You have to understand that the muslim middle-eastern nations will not stop until Israel is gone. Do you believe you can rationalize with people who are so easily talked into suicide bombings. They only understand 1 thing and one thing only and that is might. It is a ruse that the Palestinians want their own country. Do you think the violence will end. NO. After they get their own country they will want more.
