It gets soaked up pretty quickly when (real) prices fall. When the dust settles from this process, we are all left with the ability to buy more stuff - that's how productivity and wealth creation works. If you doubt this, consider that my first (Intel) 286 computer contained a 10MB hard drive that cost $1,000. I now live in a house containing 7 computers that in total cost about the same as that mighty 286 machine.
