The real touchstone is versus the 206MHz SA1110. With XScale at 400MHz and the SA1110 at 206MHz, the power difference is closer to 20-30% with aggressive power management. Since we really haven't benchmarked vs. performance, I can't comment on that. For handhelds, you likely won't see anything faster than 400MHz until the shrink to 0.13 micron...

If that's even close to being true, then X-Scale definitely stands to be a winner - especially as it eventually scales to 800MHz, offering more than 2.5x the performance for the same amount of power. And all this at .18u!"

Good chips and great potential to become even BETTER - as the 0.13 micron shrinks become available in the next year or two.

Intel is on a roll.
