AMAT CEO just last week said that he "remains concerned at the slow pace of which major tech companies are investing in new equipment." Makes me think that their outlook won't be extremely bullish....its possible that their cycle has bottomed but unlikely that the next one ramps up anytime soon from this comment.

I thought they would have positive news on the competitive front. I had read about them taking some share away from NVLS. That is why I was expecting some positives from the company.
However, I don't expect him to suggest a "V" shaped recovery. That would not be good news for most of the tech sector.

Slow recovery favors old economy stocks, imho.
