Now, here is something I never could understand. I was watching MSNBC tonight and they were reporting directly from Iran. They kept saying 10s of thousands of Iranians participated in the Islamic Revolution anniversary ceremony (which was more than previous years). But they never tell you the story behind it and who are these 10s of thousands of people they are referring to, and how they left their daily activities and work to come and listen to a bunch of B.S by a bunch of clergies and shout “Death to America“!! Lets take Tehran (the capital) where the largest of these alleged 10's of thousands of people demonstrated and shouted their usual death to America slogan! According to the MSNBC report as well as the Wall Street Journal reporters total people participating in the largest demonstration held in Tehran was at around 100,000-110,000 people. A couple of points that are being missed: a) Just to put things into perspectives, Tehran itself has over 10 million population. While these 100,000 people were shouting their usual nonsense, the rest of the population went ahead as if nothing had happened. b) The government pays (i.e. in real money) for the families of the soldiers who died in the Iraq-Iran 8 year war to come and to participate in such demonstrations. Most (if not all) of these people are poor, living below the poverty line, and they welcome doing anything that can pay them extra money. If I had not seen this with my own eyes last year when I went to Iran I would not have believed it! In any event, it is truly sad that the Western media always comes up with such idiotic titles as In bigger numbers than usual, tens of thousands of Iranians turned out to mark the 23rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution ... I have already talked to my family and friends in Iran and they laugh when I tell them about the news we hear here on people participating in the anniversary of Islamic Revolution demonstrations! They say at no other time but now the regime has been hated so much by so many. The slightest sparkle will ignite the fire that will burn all the Muslim clergies from Tehran to Mars!
