FBI Issues New Terror Warning
WASHINGTON -- The FBI issued an extraordinary terrorist alert Monday night, asking law enforcement and the American public to be on the lookout for a Yemeni man and several associates who might be plotting a terrorist attack as early as Tuesday. The FBI scrambled to put the warning out after information emerged that one or more people were involved. Officials said the intelligence, while deemed credible, was not specific about possible targets

Some of my notes from today's action.

The TYX closed above its 50 DMA and yesterday above its 20 DMA. Rates rising?

The S&P Small Cap 600 closed above its 20 DMA as did the TNX (10 year note) and so did the Nasdaq & Amex Biotechs. The Biotechs are both in down trends and have had 3 days of higher highs and lows. Qualified Gann upswings in a downtrend. Normal for a pull back here.

The S&P Mid Cap 400 came back and fell below its 50 DMA and the NYSE came back and closed below its 20 DMA.

Of the 9 Sprd Sectors, none were in the positive today. Utilities (XLU) broke even and Tecnology (XLK) was down 1.63%. For the last 5 days the best is Consumer Services (XLV) up 4.05% and the worst being Consumer Staples (XLP). Year to dates best is Basic Industries (XLB) up 3.73% and worst is Industrial (XLI) down 8.99%.

Best performing stocks in the Utilities Sector were PNW + 2.13%; CMS +2.12%; SBC +1.98% and MIR +1.97%

Second best sector today was Consumer Staples (XLP), down -.04%. Its best performers were GENZ +5.53%; CHIR +2.91%; AMGN +2.36% and PG +2.25%.
