Dan, et al,

The Prudential issuance of SELL signal on Newmont is probably to most bullish signal I've heard. I don't listen to CNBC very much or pay much attention to the recommendations of the large brokerages any more but a SELL recommendation on a stock that hasn't fallen off a cliff is unusual.

FWIW, I really blew it when I posted comments concerning Barron's this past Monday. The Commodities Corner is always the second column I look at but I missed it entirely this past weekend. And, it was all about gold and the recent rise in its price. The tone was at least mildly bullish, which was very surprising. I can't remember the last time that gold was even given more than a passing mention in the Commodities Corner. I suppose one could say that it might signal at least a pause in the rise. But, it sighted a number of reasons for the rise and why the trend should continue.

Gold being mentioned by Rukeyser and being the subject of the Commdoties Corner in Barron's in the same week is almost a once in life time experience.

Cheers,
Larry
