Yes, intersting text.

But if fundamentalists go the fundament, what about the radical who go to the root??

Maybe time to remember Orwell who did a lot on how to label things, thoughts and anything, even labels.

Ilmarinen

I believe there was actually some who thought that every word had/has some fundamental root-meaning
embedded in it.

Obviously one only needed to know this and then one knew everything, as one knew the fundamental root,
or the root of the fundament??

On the other side some say there is the relativistic, those who see the (incremental) improvement
as the goal, names which come to mind are Thomas Aquino, Jefferson and Bernstein (socialism),
combining the thought that nobody can be trusted with really knowing neither the fundamental roots, nor the
ultimate goal.

Btw, my onsite experience of the "founding fathers" fundamentalism has added to some of my own experiences.
Today's Oscar thing, the magic quest for the Lord of the magic Ring, adds some more. (especially as the
fundamental language borrowed a lot from finnish, which was a popular thing at that time, kind of exotic, with
obvious magic meanings??)
