Hi DEM,

First off - I really enjoy your well balanced review.

I'm in the camp of hoping our Wave 5 will develop today -it appears as though the set up is very probable:

I'm still awaiting a set up that provides a put/call ratio that quickly pops up over 1.10 AND has a VIX spike up into 40-50.Both are not that far away and would be a great timing que for getting long at the bottom of Wave 5.Assuming a double bottom on wave 5 would be very quick if it occurred - like in Oct 98.

stockcharts.com[h,a]daclyyay[pb50!b200][vc60][iUi14,3!Ll14]&pref=G Fast Stochastics have increasingly higher lows - building for a spike up??
50 day MA has crossed over 200 day MA and DMI is at a crossover point. It looks like the futures will push us over the cross - so developing momentum here is the key.

As you point out -Volume is the key to building a good reversal - it's anemic recent showings have been the key to this wave 4 failing IMO.

Fast stochastics have a series of increasingly higher lows - building for a bigger (higher) vix spike? Dmi is already set up to build a pop as well.

Thank you for your E- wave read which suggests that 1739 on the NAZ might be a great convergence of many approaches.

This thread has been exceptional in helping me wait out this elusive wave 5 - Thanks again.

I'm hoping this sets up a great place to go long and take a substantial ride up into the improving recovery turnaround-that is actually reflected in equity prices.Lord knows its been a long time since March 2000.

Bob

Amat has already had a big pre-announcement rise - their timid forward vision might give us a negative slide substantial enough to stretch out your wave 5 to 1739.

I agree with your point that the stock you short may not go down i.e. institutional support.Whiplash on the other side of Wave 5 might be vicious.
