Somebody must be watching, KB...

NBC's Winter Olympics (news - web sites) coverage got off to a gold-medal start, with all-time record ratings for the opening ceremonies and hefty gains over the 1998 Winter Games on CBS for the first weekend of events, figures showed Monday.

The real problem is NBC trying to get back the billions they paid for the rights with an astounding number of commercials that cover at least 20 minutes an hour. You then subtract 30 minutes of windbaggery from the announcers and you are lucky to see 10 minutes of Olympic action per hour of coverage. I would expect the ratings to drop dramatically over the two weeks.
