<How do you feel about bannings on ENRON (moderated), Donkey's Inn, etc....? When "moderated" threads were proposed on SI, I complained because I didn't like the idea at all. I still don't like it, especially when the thread is in the stock discussion area. If I had my way there wouldn't be any moderated threads. I've never read the ENRON moderated thread or the Donkey's Inn thread but I do occasionally read the RWE thread so I do see posts from both. I also see on RWE thread conversations that go: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hey I just posted on digbat's thread. This is an abomination!!! Now I’m pissed… She’s excluded any thoughtful dissent from the thread. This is un-american. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The above may not be the exact words but it’s close to the sense I got reading the RWE thread when the "Jackass" thread premiered. (sp.) So when I see people on this thread that post on RWE complaining about not being able to post on the moderated ENRON thread. I’m not surprised they might have been pre-banned. I’m thinking about hypocrisy. I don’t understand the hang-up you have with these threads. Most of the complainers tried to get banned and did. You’d have to be a moron to try to get banned and not succeed. After exerting effort to get banned, they succeeded. What’s your beef? Maybe you should adjust your focus to the free environment offered by this thread and make your case with regard to ENRON here. Here is what I think. ENRON is about a failure of the financial sector and their so-called analysts, the big accounting firms with a huge conflict of interest, and our legislators who wink and nod or push special interests for a few bucks. It’s not that we need new laws, we need legislators who won’t push through a few exemptions to laws for a buck.
