>>Honestly, do you think Brad Pitt needs to dangle gold rocks to get female attention<<

I guess the point is that THE Brad Pitt does not need gold rocks to get female attention, but that Brad Pitt without the fame and fortune would have a tougher time of it. My wife tells me, btw, that she does not find Brad Pitt attractive, which is just as well for me, I suppose. She is into horses and has a big (gelded) male Trakhener. Did you ever wonder about equestrian hygiene? On a total tangent, that horse gets certain kinds of attention that give me jealous fits. :)

<Women select mates on the basis of physical qualities like tallness, broadness of shoulders, slimness of hips, muscular physique, strength, speed, regular features, as well as intelligence - - in other words, fitness to reproduce - - just as men do, only men look for different physical qualities in women.>

LOL, not that I watch THAT much TV... but in case you havent' noticed rich guys [gold chains or no] seem to have NO trouble finding yet another 20 year old model to marry.

NFG

And as far as gold chains and jewlery... better take a vacation to NYC soon, not everyone grew up in the sticks despising flash like we did.

Women priorities: 1st) Reproduce. Then some male characteristics prevail

2nd) Professional realization. At this points those characteristics (appearance + capability to support the offspring) in males have no reason anymore.

Thus the confusion. Split the women's priorities and then things become more clear.

The older a man gets, meaning the more he loses his appearance, the more he emphasizes the other -financial- capabilities.

<However, evolution does not favor reproduction by older males.>

Actually, it obviously does. Longevity has been heavily
selected in humans, which is why we live longer than any other mammals - it helps that we don't have to run away from lions and hyenas so a great deal of physical capability isn't all that necessary. Even in zoos and highly protected conditions, animals don't live as long. They don't die simply because of predation, illness etc. They just don't live long.

Males have been selected to be able to go on reproducing all their lives. If there was no evolutionary benefit in that, their reproductive capacities would switch off earlier and they'd be drones or something, acting like Yoda. They are switched off enough that usually they can't be bothered and prefer to play politics, golf, money-making or bowls. But they can rise to the occasion if the species is under threat and lots of nubile young women are desperate for reproduction.
