It will also be very interesting to me to see who it was that bought into these sweetheart deals that were guaranteed with Enron stock, such as the Rhythms New Connections Raptor.

With the lax state of regulation it may soon be happening that companies are, in effect able to buy earnings through derivative transactions.

According to the book FIASCO by Frank Partnoy, this has already happened in Japan. I dont see anything to prevent it from happening here.
