Good points, all. Can't explain Japan except that the real estate bubble there was even worse than the stock bubble. They had 2 bubbles to recover from- and they haven't done the painful things necessary like cut employment and spending. Poor management by the gov't there too.

Fundamentals do always catch up eventually- Trouble is in the timing- and HOW it catches up too. Maybe it catches up by dropping the market value. Maybe it catches up by improving the bottom line?
