I love Michael Palin and "Pole to Pole"! I had seen Tony Bourdain (the chef who wrote "Kitchen Confidential") eat durian on another show recently. I've noticed recently that there's a new fad on tv: extreme eating. I think Fear Factor started it. I've been doing a little extreme eating of my own this afternoon: I bought a bag of Cheez Doodles (the rubies of junk food), but since my new braces prevent me from biting into anything with my front teeth, I have to wedge them in sideways and let them melt. Just thought I'd share. I'm so sorry about your back. That's a seriously chronic problem you've got there. Your limerick was inspired, though.
