My thoughts are pretty much evidenced by the fact that I went short KLAC today. I am nervous about the short position, but the charts say that it is the right thing to do. The other part of the equation is that I am not one of the believers in a mild little recession being able to wring out all of the excesses of the 90s. And I think that AMAT, which has all appearances of being a good solid company, will be very careful not to have any things in their report that looks even mildly questionable. My bet is that caution is the theme.
