Junk "sport" : any activity which does not measure results directly against other humans (i.e racing)
or the universe (time and/or distance). All that other stuff is so subjective and politicized that it should be removed from the Olympics and packaged as entertainment where it belongs. Harrumph!

Very simple criteria -

Speed
Air
Style

Down a 30% slope covered with rock hard bumps the size of Buicks. Takes incredible strength, balance and balls. You ski 30 MPH of one of those "short ramps", stick a landing and keep turning.

From your "unimpressed" description - you are obviously not a skier.
