Can you imagine working for INSP the last year and trying to hold your tongue...As you watched it all fall in to the ocean...

I couldn't have done it...Not in a million years.

I miss it, too. I don't miss the last few months of the job, though. When INSP bought it, the thrill of working for an exciting up-and-comer was gone.

I still consider myself "SI Bob" in a lot of ways. What started out as a persona I donned in the morning and duffed at night (sometimes not until the wee hours) became a part of my real personality. And, of course, there was a lot of vice-versa.

I'm actually enjoying what I'm doing now far more than I enjoyed the last several months of the SI Bob job, since now if I want a feature or want a bug fixed, I just roll up my sleeves and make it so. I don't (currently) have as much time for the human interaction I always got a kick out of, but hopefully that'll change in a few weeks when I will let myself relax a bit on the coding.

It's "different" interacting with the community when you're not the cop anymore. Even at my new digs, I'm not the cop or even a deputy (although since I'm the programmer, I'm arguably more dangerous), so it's definitely different.

Tonight, I'm putting the finishing touches on the first version of a spell-checker. Wish I still had contact with Brad so I could see if I'm getting this one done any faster or slower than he got his done.
