Are we looking at the same chart?

All I see is a small counter trend off an oversold condition going into expiry week. I see no visible signs of a sustainable rally. The trend is strongly down and there is piles of overhead resistance for a long time. There is strong resistance at the moving averages and the 50DMA has crossed under the 200 DMA on the major indices.

The RYDEX numbers are instructive and a piece of the puzzle to be sure, but in my view they are too reliant on contrarianism (in a bear market the market can continue to slide even as bearishness and pessimism prevail) and are more of an overbought/oversold oscillator. I can see a rally here on the OEX, for example, to nudge it's way to 575 and stall at the 50 DMA, then back down again before another attempt.

Don't know why I post this, it doesn't matter (and I don't care, I believe in neutral positioning with only slight bias), just passing the time of day....

Leakage from the Onion, Madison, WI...

Apparently not all of the larceny boyz on the floor have been made aware of da greatest heist since Brinks 1950 during dis option expiration week and are none to pleased. Early word out is that this is an inside job of some floor malcontents who intended to quietly cash in all da chips and hoard it fur demselves hoping to go unnoticed.. Some of da regulars, most notably Art Cashun and a few other unnamed heavy hitters, have gotten wind of these maverick exploits and up until this point have been left holding da empty brown bags. But da regulars led by Cashun, have been in dis here biz all too long, and have concocted a plan all der own to bait and switch da young floor bastoids wit greed in der hearts not seen since da likes of one Ivan Boesky back in da 80's. Da internal fight at da chicago floor for all da money is on and watch fur da double juke whipsaw set-up, where da market opens one way, reverses, and den reverses again which ultimately of course will take dis market even higher. It is a classic bait and switch tactic which will allow dos dat have not been made aware of da heist to get long and seize da mother lode size portion of da loot in da remaining two days.

Oh, Rydex confirms all systems go and supports Cashun and his cronies who have paid der lifetime dues...

Developing...
