"Union president Ottavio Cinquanta planned a Wednesday news conference. It wasn’t clear when the union’s review would be completed or what, if any, action it could take."

Who's Jean Sempt?
This has nothing to do with judging being subjective or biased or political .... If there is evidence, from the French judge or from other judges she told, that she "was forced to vote for the Russians," it is illegal.

"Skating has a history of controversies. Ice dancing the usual culprit, with many believing results are set before competitions begin." But not only ice dancing.

"Two pairs judges at the 1999 world championships — Sviatoslav Babenko of Russia and Alfred Korytek of Ukraine — were suspended after TV footage showed them glancing at each other and appearing to talk before marks were announced."

Sale and Pelletier have a great attitude. Pelletier said he hopes they weren't sacrificed for some one els's goals. Sad, but they sure have a lot of support worldwide.

Sale and Pelletier were just on Jay Leno. Leno brought out a Canadian flag and they played O Canada.

Hi Buckey..

Great thread.

Being an ex skater, I was shocked to see that the Russians won over the Canadians again. These kids almost go broke with the cost of skating, and work so hard. Their performance was flawless and it should be overturned.
How much longer can this go on and they get away with it.

Hats off to Jay Leno who played the Cdn National Anthem and displayed the flag for the entire episode last night..

So where does this leave Shae and Victor, and I too have heard they already have been placed fifth. Has anyone seen their long program? Being a former dancer, I have never seen a more difficult program and for this performance I have seen them get 6.0's on the presentation. I have seen the Russians, and I have seen the French couple, and if Shae and Victor are on then they deserve gold, as it's a very difficult program. These kids even hired a Russian coach and have worked their butts off. Can they and will they get away with cheating these kids out of the gold again? It's our last chance, as Canada hasn't got a gold in Olympic figure skating in over 40 years.

Regards
G
