Flu-bound PM cancels all meetings, angering disabled activists

Sidelined by what doctors called a bout of the flu, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon cancelled all of his planned meetings for Wednesday and Thursday, sparking the anger of some disabled activists who had waited more than two months for talks with Sharon.

After a marathon sit-in held under difficult conditions in the government compound in Jerusalem, the activists agreed to end their protest last week, when Sharon agreed to meet with them immediately on his return from a weekend trip to Washington. But Sharon took ill during his return flight, and this week cancelled a number of appointments, including scheduled Wednesday talks with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
