Pearl is a pawn in the game of terror diplomacy
Yes, that seems to be the illogical evolution of events resulting in Pearl's abduction. The paki president doesn't have the whole apparatus of the Govt. under his wings. There are elements in the military, ISI, Jihadi outfits who act against the interests of US, India, and the West. Mushhead doesn't have control over them! Poor fellow, he tries hard going through fiery hoops and intricate loops to comply with America's legitimate demands.

What is admirable is that Indians have kept their cool and didn't do anything to introduce any ugly element during the visit of Mush to Bush. Remember that the ISI and jihadists killed innocent sikhs in Kashmir, while Clinton came to India. Indians are not interested in embarrassing anybody. What they do - test a missile - is their business and in the interest of India. The leadership is mature in India, but it ain't so in pakistan.

Pakistan is held together by a bond of hatred towards India. The leadership will not survive if it does not espouse that hatred and that is why there is a regular saber-rattling and India-baiting and -bashing in pakistan.
