"and generally, the reality is very far from expectations." Wireless has a great future. But it is like ethernet was in the mid-80's, it's expensive, sorta glitchy, and more of an art than a science. For a building of any size, the site survey is critical. And even then, if the customer doesn't tell you about their plans, or changes them, it can throw things off. Like the time the customer decided to stack those boxes of frozen fish a lot higher in the freezer and the network developed dead spots...
